Audition Dates for Fall 2026 Enrollment
Dates To Be Announced
Who Needs to Audition?
- Undergraduate Students: All students interested in any Bachelor of Music (BM) and Bachelors of Arts (BA) programs need to audition in their major performance medium (voice or instrument).
- Music Minors: Those interested in pursuing a Music Minor with a general or Jazz Studies concentration must audition in their performance medium. World Music Minor students do not need to audition for admission to that minor.
- Non-majors: Students in other majors at Kent State who want to take applied lessons need to audition in their performance area.
What Do You Need to Prepare?
- Audition pieces vary according to the candidate鈥檚 specific major performance medium.
- Live accompaniment is the ideal for your audition. If you cannot bring a pianist yourself, you may request one on your audition form. Accompaniment tracks are to be used only in the instance where an accompanist cannot be acquired
- See below for our audition requirements. If you have any questions about the materials or would like to substitute any literature, please contact the applied instrumental/voice teacher to discuss!
