The Devin C.G. Moore Memorial Scholarship has been established in honor of Kent State student Devin Christian Gregory Moore. A senior broadcast journalism student, Devin died suddenly on Dec. 6, 2017, while playing basketball with friends. His parents, Christa Poole and Darryl Moore, established the scholarship in Devin鈥檚 honor, and it will be awarded to an underrepresented/minority student pursuing a degree in journalism, with an interest in broadcast journalism. Kent State researchers are awarded a patent for the next generation of the therapy cycle known as the SMART Cycle, for Speed Manipulated Adaptive Rehabilitation Therapy.

Anne Heller鈥檚 face was getting red as she pedaled the stationary bike. The 59-year-old Cuyahoga Falls resident had agreed to take part in experiments at Kent State University using a bike developed by researcher Angela Ridgel, Ph.D., in Kent State's College of Education, Health and Human Services, to help ease the symptoms of Parkinson鈥檚 disease. Through the SRL, students can attain a part-time position collecting information for research purposes. The position involves contacting prospective respondents over the telephone and administering a standardized survey instrument. This position involves no sales or fundraising.

Applicants must be willing to work a minimum of one full shift per week throughout the Fall, Spring, and/or Summer.

Seventeen second-year students from the Occupational Therapy Assistant program rolled up their sleeves, flexed their muscles and went to work to help build the Walnut Grove Playground, an all-inclusive recreational facility designed for those with special needs. Dec. 16:  Jason Lorenzon is a FAA licensed Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor. He was one of the first pilot-lawyers to receive the Remote Pilot In Command sUAV (drones) FAA Certificate in Ohio. Mr. Lorenzon teaches Aviation Law, Aviation Security, and Policy and periodically instructs Flight Tech majors at the Kent State University Airport.
