On March 13, 2016, Paulin saved a man鈥檚 life, and now Kent State鈥檚 Department of Public Safety is honoring Paulin for his heroic acts. Ohio Gov. John Kasich has appointed a new trustee to the Kent State University Board of Trustees. Kasich named Shawn M. Riley of Gates Mills, Ohio, to a nine-year term as a trustee. Riley鈥檚 appointment began May 17, 2016, and ends May 16, 2025. Riley serves as president-elect of McDonald Hopkins LLC and will become president of the firm on Oct. 1, 2016. He will oversee 140 attorneys at six office locations. Currently, he leads the firm鈥檚 Cleveland office. Bartz, President and CEO of State and Federal Communications, has provided a $30,000 endowment to Kent State University at Trumbull, in Warren, Ohio, to provide scholarships for graduating seniors from Howland High School.
